Connect
Church is not just for Sundays! There are a lot of ways that you can connect with us in the week.
We have various regular church groups, and community outreach groups.

So whether you want to study God's word in a home group, join us for a chat and coffee, or if you are in need of some pastoral care, you can find the details below.

Keep an eye on our social media to see what other events and activities are happening.

Home Groups
At St Michael's and St Mark's we encourage everyone to be part of a home group. It gives us an opportunity to discuss our faith and encourage, support and pray for one another. We currently have four groups; one meets on Wednesday morning, two on Wednesday evening, and one on Thursday evening.

If you would be interested in joining a home group please speak to a member of the ministry team on a Sunday at church, or contact the Parish Office.
Bible in a Year
A group of us aim to read the whole Bible in a year, following one of the many plans available, which set a daily reading to include a portion of Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs.

We meet together once a month on Saturday morning for breakfast to chat about any questions from the last month's passages. We also consider a topic, which helps us to get more out of the next month's readings.
Pastoral care
As a church family we are committed to supporting one another and offering prayerful support to anyone who needs it in the parish.

Contact the Parish Office if you would like a visit from the clergy team, who are always happy to pray, chat or share communion.
Alpha
Do you want to explore the meaning of life? Alpha offers a chance to explore the meaning of the Christian faith in a friendly and social way, starting with a meal.
If you would like to take part in an Alpha course, please speak to a member of the ministry team, or contact the Parish Office.
Dynamic prayer
A group of church members and leaders meet every Tuesday morning at 8am on Zoom to pray for the church, the city of Carlisle and the needs of the world.
This meeting is open to anyone who would like to join us, please contact the Parish Office for details.
Chit-Chat Cafe
A great opportunity for chat, coffee, tea and cake!
Everyone is welcome at St Mark's church on Wednesday afternoons, 2.00 - 4.00pm.
Coffee morning
On Saturdays we hold a coffee morning. Everyone is welcome to join us for a drink and a chat at
St Michael’s Parish Centre from 10.30-11.30am.
Coffee at the gate
On Wednesday mornings we serve coffee and tea at St Michael's church gate. If you're dropping off your children at the school, or just passing through the church grounds, stop by for a free cuppa and a friendly chat.

Join us at the church gate from 8.45-9.30am (term-time only).
Mothers' Union
The Mothers' Union meets at 2.30pm on the second Thursday of each month in the Parish Centre. As well as talks and activities, the local branch has knitted hats for sailors, and provided muffin bags for hospital inpatients who have been admitted without any belongings, and for the women’s refuge (muffin bags contain a small towel, face cloth, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb and a small packet of tissues).
